Chris is currently
working on a new musical theater piece entitled MY NAME IS MOON.
"MOON" deals with the subject of the Underground Railroad.
A young slave learns
that her curious name, Moon, was given to her by her father, who was
sold to another plantation before she was born. She searches for the
story behind her name, and this search leads her down a "long, rough,
winding stretch of river," through idealism, hope, loss and redemption.
She eventually finds her answer, but not until she finds much more than
she ever hoped, or even wanted to know.
At this point, thirteen
songs and the story have been completed. The script is currently "in
the works."
Songs from "MOON" will
be posted on this site, along with updates and a schedule of staged
readings.

In the pipeline, also,
is a musical with the working title 1901, which takes place in
England. 1901 follows the story of a young lady who rejects the life of
privilege and the lofty social stratum into which she was born. Her
attempts to address the ills of society take tangible form in an
organization that provides "support and succor" to women and children of
the streets. The financial challenges and travails of such an endeavor,
and the resultant search for benefactors, soon lead her back to the very
people and places she sought to escape.
